Why this matters
Moving value across chains means trusting whoever verifies the move. The comparator ranks routes by that trust assumption — and tells you when a same-ledger path payment makes a bridge unnecessary.
What happens on the XRP Ledger
On XRPL a path payment is atomic: ripple_path_find discovers the route, SendMax caps slippage. Foreign bridges get a job that only advances on evidence.
